It is vegan from so-called Toray hair, which is fine synthetic hair. Human hair from animals (usually the tails of squirrels) is out of the question for us. He's been our default Kabuki for Foundation since the company was founded. We made a conscious decision to use bamboo for the stems whenever possible because bamboo is a rapidly renewable raw material and also reduces CO2 as it grows.
